About

Many years ago, I used to earn my living as a programmer. I mainly worked in the financial industry working on everything from software that would import trading data feeds to complex Monte Carlo simulations. Along the way, I also designed several systems for administrating complex pension and investment portfolios.

I slowly moved away from programming and indeed the corporate life and now earn my living as a Jeweller. It has been ten years since I have done anything programming wise which I would call of merit.

In my downtime, I like playing video games both retro and modern. Recently  I have undergone surgery on one of my hands and found myself not being able to play games for a while. Having spent a couple of weeks of climbing the walls, I thought I would have a go at making my own.

I have had a brief fling with Unity before about two years ago and my first impression was, that it was brilliant. If you ever wanted to make a game, here is everything you need to hand. I then didn't really follow up on my ideas or effort.

This time round, wanting to keep things simple I decided to do a remake of one of my favourite games back in the day Into the Eagle Nest.

The game was original produced by Interceptor Micros label Pandora. The company itself has a unique history and I can recommend a read of the following.

My aim is to at least recreate the original first level and have an enemy that is a lot smarter and vicious than the original.
